Birmingham Comedy Festival presents:
Stan and Ollie: Back on the Big Screen
Three classic black and white comedies featuring the greatest double-act of all time, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.
Twice Two (1933)
It's a year after Stan and Ollie married their respective sisters, and the wives (also played by Stan and Ollie) are preparing a surprise anniversary party. Featuring an appearance from Charlie Hall!
County Hospital (1932)
Laid up with a broken leg, Ollie is looking forward to a relaxing recuperative rest in hospital, but when Stan visits bearing gifts, his stay looks set to be cut short.
Way Out West (1937)
Laurel and Hardy head to the town of Brushwood Gulch to deliver the deeds of a gold mine to an old prospector's daughter - if only they knew what she looked like! Featuring the song Trail Of The Lonesome Pine, which became an unlikely no.2 hit in 1975.
Presented by John Ullah, Grand Sheik of the Birmingham branch of the Laurel and Hardy Appreciation Society, and author of This Is More Than I Can Stand, the biography of Birmingham-born Laurel and Hardy co-star Charlie Hall.
