(Belatedly) celebrating the 40th anniversary of the ground-breaking classic comedy series, actor/ writer/ director Peter Richardson and actor/ impressionist/ Comic Strip regular Phil Cornwell share insider anecdotes, favourite clips and full footage compiled by Peter of the game-changing TV series.

First appearing on TV screens in 1982, The Comic Strip Presents ... not only launched Channel 4, but also the careers of some of the greatest comedy minds of their generation, including Peter Richardson, Nigel Planer, Rik Mayall, Ade Edmondson, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. Other familair faces who passed through episodes included Robbie Coltrane, Alexei Sayle, Keith Allen, Miranda Richardson, and Kathy Burke.

The afternoon also includes screenings of Bad News, Hunt For Tony Blair, Detectives On The Edge, Red Nose Of Courage, Four Men In A Car, plus Q&As with the stars and writers Peter Richardson and Phil Cornwell hosted by Robin Ince.

An absolute must for any comedy fan.

Bad News Tour (1983): On the road with the British Heavy Metal band. Bad News proved so popular that a second mockumentary followed, as did an album, hit single and live shows.

Hunt For Tony Blair (2011): Facing arrest for murder, Prime Minister Tony goes on the run.

Detectives On The Edge Of A Nervous Breakdown (1993): When the star fo TV's The Gourmet Detective is murdered, TV detectives from three decades - including The Bullshitters' Bonehead and Foyle - come together to solve the crime.

Red Nose Of Courage (1992): John Major, a reluctant clown, trades the circus for politics and quickly ascends the ranks to become PM.

Four Men In A Car (1998): Four salesmen - Rik Mayall, Ade Edmondson, Peter Richardson and Nigel Planer - share the car journey from hell. A follow-up, Four Men In A Plane, followed in 2000.
