Richard Dadd: That Time I Invented Taskmaster and Invaded France
Cherry Reds Cafe Bar, 88-92 John Bright Street, Birmingham B1 1BN
Tickets: PWYW
Time: 3.30pm
A true story.
Local comedian Richard Dadd accidentally became the face of a brand of pork snacks. As a result, he was contractually obliged to complete a series of increasingly bizarre online challenges. What started off as a bit of a laugh soon escalates into disaster.
Join him as he relives this ridiculous episode of his life with the aid of video footage to prove he didn’t hallucinate it all.
A cautionary tale involving launching an invasion of France, hitch-hiking to a music festival, pestering David Suchet, live weaponry, Zoo magazine, inventing Taskmaster, and selling egg portraits.
He may be “Birmingham’s King of Alternative Comedy” (BBC Upload) but every word of this story is 100% true. No porkies!
